Kialmbu residents have been urged to balance between exercising and good nutrition in order to lead a good life.
Speaking on Sunday at Kiambu town during a health awareness day, a dietician with Kamirithu Herbal Clinics, Florence Wambui said that balancing exercise with good nutrition has positive impact on the lives of people.
“Right balance of nutrition and exercise are important in shaping our health. Intense exercise needs to go in hand in hand with good intake of nutrition,” said Wambui.
She said the duo components are necessary in maintaining a good health free from complications, further noting that many health complications affecting people are due to lack of exercise and urged the residents to cultivate the habit of exercising.
She said that there is need to adopt exercising / nutrition balance to promote health and reduce levels of obesity, and urged the residents to form the habit of having intake of water regularly as recommended by physicians.
““Exercising twice or thrice a day enables our bodies to function properly, water forms an important component in our health because it facilitates easily metabolism reactions,” added Wambui.
Wambui urged the residents to incorporate vegetables and fruits in their diet to supplement nutrients intake, saying health is the greatest wealthinc one can have in their lifetime.
“Increase of fruits and vegetables should be encouraged in our diet to allow our bodies to acquire extra nutrients,” said Wambui.
Peter Mwangi, a Kiambu resident thanked the herbal company for investing in promoting good health for Kenyans and said that successful and healthy Kenyans contribute to productivity of the nation.
