Kenyans are known for their 'last minute rush' when things needs to get done.

This has been proven true following the umpteenth reminder that the digital switch for TV is expected tonight. The last minute rush can only be the best way to describe the long queues witnessed in Thika town on Tuesday as people hurried to acquire digital set-top boxes ahead of the analogue switch-off.

Today was however different in the same town following a yet again suspension of the migration date by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Among the major retail outlets, sales had by midday dropped.

"Today we have not even sold a quarter of what we sold yesterday. People are not even enquiring like they were doing," John Nderitu, an attendant at Mathai supermarket said.

Some are still ignorant on the implications of the digital migration.

"This migration will never happen! They tried it with Chinese phones and it failed. I will take my TV set to River Road for 'unlocking' once it is switched off," Paul Kimani, a clothes seller at Makongeni said.
