Students who have pursued diploma courses will not have to start from the first year while pursuing their bachelor’s degree.
According to the Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA) chairman Bonaventure Kerre, it will take effect next year.
"This is expected much-needed vibrancy in the country education, skill training, and manpower development by blending academic and professional qualification,” he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
The new framework harmonizes the existing gaps in the education sector and enables who wish to further their education to higher levels without any difficulties," he added.
He reiterated that the current system has denied many talented and bright Kenyans who might have missed a grade to continue their education.
"The new arrangement will ensure that there is clear path one takes for maximum utilization of their skills. We cannot achieve vision 2030 if there is no clear path of growth of skills in the country," noted Kerre.
He, however, urged institution of higher learning to ensure they offer quality courses which are job oriented.
