Addressing residents at Matutu PAG on Tuesday during a funds drive, Gesima zone tea director Rachel Orina alleged that there are certain individuals who want the tea factory moved to a different location.

“I would like to advise all area residents to beware of such individuals opposed to the construction of this factory in this area,” Orina said.

“It has been a struggle to get the factory here but now some individuals have started interfering with the process. I urge all residents to be aware of them,” she added

She said despite the challenges they are facing, plans to commence construction are ongoing.

“Despise the challenges we are facing, we are working hard to ensure construction commences as planned. The management plans to drill a borehole for the factory's water provision," she noted.

The director thanked the farmers for donating land for the construction of the factory, assuring them that once completed, the factory will help create jobs for residents, among other benefits

She urged residents  to re-elect her so that she can push for the construction of the proposed factory since there are many people who have started a campaign against her.
