Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale is on the spot for allegedly sending a threatening message to a KTN correspondent from North Eastern over what has been reported as conflicting political ideologies.
In a post seen by this writer, Duale told the journalist that 'Nitakulima kwa sababu mimi ni serikali' which literally translats to 'I will firmly deal with you because I am the ruling government.'Hamza Bin Usuf says Duale, who also happens to be his uncle, directed the message as a warning to his media coverage, saying he should 'know people' and never cover all that transpires in the area.
However, the Jubilee MP is yet to respond to the allegations raised by the journalist. It is just a couple of months ago that Duale attracted a public uproar after he called for eviction of a section of non-native Garissa residents.
It is thus expected that these sentiments will deal a blow to the incumbent's politics given that the the country is in the electioneering period.Lately, there has been a rise in violence against journalists, especially by the police and seasoned politicians who do not wish to be exposed on their ills.
