Drama unfolded at Gusii Stadium on Thursday when people living with disability cried foul over misunderstanding from the county government of Kisii over managing their issues.
This came after the president of the people living with disability in Kisii County Kennedy Mouko sought to know why county officials are mistreating his colleagues.
“Your Excellency governor Ongwae, we; persons living with disability have been undergoing psychological torture in your office by not having the path meant for us and nobody cares or has an interest to our prosperity,” said Mouko.
Kisii Central Ward Representative Wilfred Monyenye found him in bitter emotions from the group for allegedly referring to their leader as “this disabled leader”, until he was forced to apologise and withdraw his statement.
In a quick response, the county chief urged them to create an enabling environment to propel the county in terms of development.
“You are my brothers and sisters and this is your county, make sure you are part and parcel to fight those who are behind our fall to deter us from developing our county,” advised Ongwae, further stating that it is evident that the county has moved a little bit on development issues and with time they will achieve all their aspiration.
