People Living With Disabilities have expressed concern over what they claim discrimination against them.

County People Living With Disabilities Chairperson Douglas Mekubo said the county government had not laid a conducive environment for them to work and do business.

Addressing the press in Nyamira on Tuesday, Mr Mekubo asked Governor John Nyagarama to ensure their rights were well taken care of.

“we have just given the governor two weeks to act on our matter or we go to the court to seek advice from there," Mr Mekubo said.

"We have already drafted a letter and one of our officials will be dropping it to the governor’s office so that he can act on it.”

The group raised concern over how the slots created by the constitution for the disabled are given out to those who have no disabilities.

Speaking at the same event, Magwagwa Ward representative Fred Nyachae assured the disabled persons that he would table a motion in the County Assembly to ensure their grievances are heard and looked upon.

He said he will be consulting other departments to get a quick solution to there problems.
