A Nakuru county MCA has said that he will table a motion before the assembly which if goes through will see disabled persons in the county get free healthcare in the 2018/2019 financial year.
Kiamaina ward MCA Isaac Wahome said the county should allocate funds and compile a list of people living with disabilities ahead of the next financial year in June.
"I am sure the motion will be passed by the ward representatives once I able it. I am appealing to the county government through the Department of Gender and Social Welfare to update the database to exactly establish the number of disabled persons in the county,” he said.
Wahome said disabled persons in the county have been receiving inadequate support from the county and national governments.
"Free healthcare to disabled persons will help improve health lifestyles of disabled hence boost living standards,” he added.
