Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks secured a disappointing goalless draw against Mathare United on Thursday afternoon.
Both sides had golden chances in both halves in the tie but remained wasteful in front of goal.
Mathare United had an opportunity of taking the lead within fifteen minutes of gameplay through Chrispin Oduor who had a perfect combination with teammate John Mwangi, but the goalbound ball was brilliantly intercepted by Sharks' goalkeeper John Oyemba.
Mathare was dominant in the first half, managing to create a few chances as the hosts struggled to settle in.
Sharks, who were less threatening recorded only one shot on target in the last few minutes of the first half.
This was their second match of the day played at Utalii Grounds in their preseason tournament campaign.
Earlier on in the day, they surrendered a 2-1 lead, losing 3-2 to Bandari FC in a match played at the same venue.
They will be looking for their first win on Friday when they entertain National Super League side Kibera All-Stars.
The tournament was organized by Sharks in preparation for the 2018 season.
