Kisii county government has been challenged to disband county public service board over nepotism in employment.
According to Rigena human rights watch chairman Thomson Osoro, the board should be disbanded since it has been promoting nepotism in employment in the last four years.
Addressing the media on Thursday in Kisii town, Osoro alleged that the board is not following the write procedure in employment and there is a need for a new board to take the office.
“We won’t allow nepotism to continue in our county and we are going to demonstrate until the current Kisii county public service board is disbanded," said Osoro.
The sentiments were echoed by Kisii county youth forum president Dennis Orioki who alleged that the board has given some people appointment letters without short listing and interviewing them in the current job advertisements.
“We want our board to work positively and transparently in employment to promote fairness," said Orioki.
