Kisumu County Executive for Education Jennifer Kere challenged parents to instil discipline in their children.
When she spoke yesterday during an Educational forum at Kisumu Social hall, Kere noted that a child that has been brought up well often has a higher standard of discipline.
She said that even the Bible demands us to discipline our children as the Bible states that a child grows wholesome when disciplined.
“Let’s support our children growing responsibly by instilling proper discipline in them while they’re still growing,” Kere said.
Nominated MCA Lydia Odhiambo also supported this view, emphasizing that disciplining a child didn’t necessarily end in damaged relations between families, or harm the bonds of love between siblings.
“We should learn between hate, love and discipline, parents need to take on a role to help their children grow responsibly,” said Odhiambo
