The hair dryers, shavers and other instruments and toiletries(towels) used in saloons and kinyozi are not generally good for our health. Actually, the level of hygiene in those places are dismal. Like in the case of some kinyozi, they use a single towel to serve all customers from Monday to Monday and expired disinfectants which are not effective in killing germs on the shavers. They are all after money and this is why they care less about hygiene.
Here are some diseases you can get from kinyozi and saloons as highlighted on venasnews.co.ke
HIV
Not all barber shops have effective disinfectants, some use expired ones. You never know. Some germs remain on the shaver and a good example is HIV virus. HIV virus can penetrate into the body through the small incisions obtained as result of shaving. The machine cause disruption of hair follicles hence leading to small incisions.
STDs from waxing.
Waxing generally involves removal of unwanted hairs. This treatment is associated with STDs contraction especially through double dipping. Double dipping is whereby the wax stick used to apply wax is placed back into the wax pot to apply more wax and in most cases, single stick is recycled, that is, it's used to serve tyranny of people. Be on the lookout because you might end up acquiring STDs.
Warts
It's a type of deformed growth occurring on the skin. They mainly appear on the face and fingers. You can acquire warts from saloons through the towels.
Other possible diseases you can get from kinyozi and saloons include acne, dandruff, rashes, ingrown hair, herpes and among others.
