It might sound incredible since pools are chlorinated, but believe it or not, you can acquire some contagious disease from pools

Here are the diseases women can catch from swimming pools

Giardiasis; From a biological point of view, this disease is a poop-related bacteria and usually caused by Giardia lamblia parasite. The parasite is a dime a dozen in most of the public swimming pools.  You can be diagnosed with giardiasis by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. In this case, you may acquire the disease through gulping the pool water which is risky.

Don't be deluded that the water is 100% pure or chlorinated, it has some impurities and this impurity usually emanate from people's urine, wastes and so on.

Shigellosis; you can also acquire the disease from public pools. Shigellosis is a form of dysentery caused by intestinal infection with Shigella bacteria, a causative agent. As mentioned above, you can acquire the disease through gulping the pool water

Cryptosporidium; It is a microscopic parasite that causes diarrhea and generally transmitted by gulping contaminated pool water.

Last but not the least, you can get Norovirus from public pools. It is also a contagious disease transmitted by gulping contaminated pool water.
