Months after ditching ODM party for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee, Kisii senator Chris Obure has found himself in unfamiliar position and risks having his governorship aspirations locked out by IEBC.
The veteran politician who once served as Public Works Minister during the grand coalition is yet to be cleared by Jubilee party to run for governorship.
Even having won nominations which PPDT ordered Jubilee party to carry out; Obure is facing a tussle from little known Alfred Nyangweso who has again contested the results.
“I want to insist that no elections were held in Kisii and that is in public domain,” said Nyagweso who vowed to get justice from Jubilee party.
But Obure now accuses unnamed persons within presidency for allegedly sabotaging his efforts to run as governor.
“I don’t know why they keep playing hide and seek with me. I should now settle and plan campaigns but some busybodies are frustrating me,” said Obure.
Recently a source revealed that Obure and a section of Kisii politicians had been barred from making direct contacts to State House after it emerged that they were not ‘delivering’ for Jubilee.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is believed to have settled on Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to lead his campaigns in Gusii region.
