[Photo/Daily Nation]South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has urged the court in Kisii to dismiss the petition challenging his August 8 victory since it lacked merits.Through his lawyer Mr, Edward Obegi, Osoro said the petitioner has failed to specify the exact polling stations where he claims there was electoral malpractice during the elections so the case should be dismissed with costs.“Your Honour, the petitioner is ‘incompetent’ since he did not sign an affidavit to support his claims. He stated that no witnesses testified in court about violence which took place during the exercise as it was alleged," said Obegi.“We, therefore, ask the court to strike out the case since it’s against the will of the public who turned out in large number to vote for a leader of their choice," he added.Osoro's win has been challenged by Mr Dennis Makori, who claims that voters were bribed, and the was colluding between presiding officers, the returning officer to do ballot stuffing in favor of Osoro.Makori also added that more than 1305 votes were added to give Osoro the victory. The case has been slated for March 2, 2018.
