Juja Constituency MP Francis Munyua has warned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho against insulting the President.Munyua accused Governor Joho of having no regard for the Presidency, which he said is a symbol of national unity that must be respected by every citizen. He said Joho has continued to insult and abuse the Presidency, actions he says contravenes the Constitution and amounts to treason.“Governor Joho should understand that the Presidency is a symbol of our unity and as such he must respect it. Disrespecting the President will not make him a hero,” Munyua told journalists on Tuesday. The Juja MP said that they (Jubilee MPs) will not allow Joho and other opposition leaders to attack President Uhuru Kenyatta. He, however, defended Uhuru’s public outbursts saying he is angered by opposition’s malicious propaganda against his government.“The President has every right to be angry especially when some people are out to discredit his government,” he said. The standoff between Uhuru and Joho escalated on Monday when the governor was barred from attending the Mtongwe Ferry relaunch in Mombasa.Speaking during the launch, President Kenyatta asked Joho to stop following him around, adding he was not his wife.
