Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has called on Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga to delink himself from Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama.

Mwangangi's remarks came just a day after IEBC nullified Machakos gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti's nomination by Wiper Party.

Speaking on Friday, the lawmaker accused Muthama of orchestrating Ndeti's political downfall and wrecking the NASA coalition from within.

“The fight against Wavinya is beyond what many can see. Those behind it have Kalonzo as their target and in fact the whole of the NASA fraternity. Kalonzo is the custodian of the agreement made between Wiper and CCU and there are people who want to bring him down by ensuring his party lacks a candidate for governor,” he noted.

“I think it is time now our presidential candidate Raila Odinga understands who Muthama is. I advise him to take this earliest opportunity and distance himself from the senator because he is now becoming destructive to the NASA fraternity,” he added.

Muthama has been a central figure in NASA.

He, however, has had a frosty relationship with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, leading to his withdrawal from the Machakos senatorial race.
