The wave of political mergers is sweeping across the nation. Several parties have dissolved and joined Jubilee while there is a possibility of others disbanding to join Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) party.

Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party is among those that will have to be done away with in the bid to form Cord to reckon Jubilee. If this materializes then Musyoka's political demise is around the corner.

The former vice president and Wiper steward has to heed the advice of his party secretary-general Senator Omar Hassan. The probability of the Mombasa senator achieving his political desires in Cord as a party is extremely minimal.

His party leader faces the same fate. Cord party will be majorly a change of name to ODM party. Over 60% of politicians who are shaking the current Jubilee government are from ODM.

The numbers in the national assembly, senate and gubernatorial seats shows the clear dominance over Ford Kenya and Wiper. There will be no equality in Cord despite the political experience of Musyoka.

If Kalonzo fails to clinch one of the two top positions in Cord, he will be doomed politically. There will be no ready room to retreat to for reorganization. Forming another party will definitely take time and Musyoka will be late to launch a comeback.
