A cleric from Mombasa has told President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve cabinet and reconstitute it a fresh with opposition leader Raila Odinga's men and women given plum positions.
Reverend Francis Opana on Saturday said now that Uhuru has accepted to work with Raila, it is reasonable for the commander in chief to dissolve cabinet and make fresh appointments that will rope-in members of the opposition.
"Uhuru rushed to appoint cabinet secretaries," Opan told Citizen Radio in Mombasa town.
"The meeting Raila wanted has come and passed. He has also agreed to work with the government. Uhuru should now dissolve cabinet and make fresh appointments and Raila should be allowed to appoint his men and women into cabinet."
Uhuru recently made nine new appointments to cabinet when he constituted his 22-member cabinet.
He , however, while making the appointments ignored the opposition saying he was not ready to engage in side shows anymore now that elections are over.
He said the time remaining for him as he embarks on serving his last term is to develop the country.
Some residents in Mombasa, however, expressed displeasure with Raila's decision to meet Uhuru.
"He said he is leading us to Canaan. Is Harambee House Canaan?" Joseph Ajuma a member of the Kisauni Jua Kali Association said.
