Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has told Deputy President William Ruto that he will regret his decision dissolve the United Democratic Party (URP) to join the Jubilee Party.
The Governor said the DP will find it hard to make political bargains without a party, and told him to prepare for a hard time in his newly launched political outfit.
Ruto who spoke at the Sigowet grounds in Sigowet constituency said the DP should not bank on JP to front him as its presidential candidate in the 2022 polls.
"Let us tell each other the truth. The greatest mistake that the Deputy President made was to allow the dissolution of United Republican Party (URP), he will learn the hard way that a politician cannot enjoy sleep when he or she doesn't have a safety net in form of a political party which he can use to bargain with," Ruto said as quoted by The Standard.
Emurua-Dikir MP Johanna Ngeno was also quick to warn the DP claiming that former KNC party leader Peter Kenneth was being groomed to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta, making his chances limited to ascending to the presidency.
"The aim of Jubilee's power brokers is for Peter Kenneth to be the 2022 presidential candidate and the first step is to ensure that he makes a comeback to the national limelight by taking over the Nairobi gubernatorial seat," Ngeno said.
