Mukurweini primary school headteacher James Kamau has said they had not recorded a single case of absenteeism amongst class one learners since the distribution of the digital education devices.

Speaking from the school on Tuesday, Gakunga stated that no child in class one has missed class since the laptops were delivered to the school.

This, he said, was extraordinary, compared to the past; were day-to-day cases of a learner being absent for various reasons were rampant.

Mukurweini primary is the most crowded school in Gatundu North, with over 800 learners and over 90 pupils in class one alone.

Gakunga revealed that for the last one week, the appearance was remarkable, which he ascribed to strong excitement created by the arrival of the devices.

"The same case has been replicated in class two where pupils are attending classes without fail after the delivery of the national government laptops," he said.

The digitally made learning gadgets were delivered at the start of May.

The national government delivered 99 devices, three tablets, a server and a projector to the school which is located in the remote parts of Gatundu North.

Over 50 government trained teachers and dozens of school heads have been trained on the digital literacy programme in the region.
