Officers from Mombasa County government's Department of Health met to plan for the mosquito nets distribution exercise that is set to kick off from February 28 to March 3, 2018 across the County.
The officers were in company of Nyali and Kisauni Sub-County Administration officers, National government officers among other stakeholders.
The stakeholders discussed among other issues, how they will distribute the nets effectively; discourage misuse of the nets such as being used for fishing; and safe disposal of the mosquito nets after use.
Members of the community who were earlier registered, are expected to show up with their IDs at their respective centres ranging from primary schools, chiefs offices, and worship centres to collect the treated nets without charges.
Residents are also advised to contact their respective health officers, Sub County and ward administrators and village elders in case they have any concerns or queries regarding the mosquito nets.
The nets, will be effective in preventing diseases such as malaria, dengue fever and chikungunya virus which are spread by mosquitoes.
