Deputy President William Ruto has challenged residents in the coast region to support the Jubilee administration ahead of the August polls, noting that the Opposition has no development agenda for them.

Speaking in Mariakani, Kilifi County on Wednesday, Ruto observed that the opposition alliance dubbed NASA has no new agenda for Kenyans, adding that the outfit's leaders are only focused on sharing "non-existent positions."

“Don’t be misled to continue hanging onto parties which have nothing to offer in terms of development. I abandoned ODM because I realised it was not focused on development,” the Star quoted him.

“It is time people here reviewed their political stand and knew that the Opposition has no development agenda for this region,” he added.

Kilifi North MP Gideon Mungaro reiterated Ruto's remarks, stating that the region was ready to embrace Jubilee Party.

“We are telling the opposition that Coast is no longer an Opposition zone because Kenyans are now more enlightened than before and want nothing short of service delivery,” he said.
