Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has asked his former party boss Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch the National Super Alliance (NASA).Speaking to journalists in Mombasa Town on Wednesday, Omar said Kalonzo is deceiving himself by clinging to NASA leader Raila Odinga.Omar argued that Kalonzo stands to gain nothing politically if he remains in the Raila-led opposition coalition. The Jubilee politician claimed that Raila will betray Kalonzo again by not honouring the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they signed before the August 8 general election.“Kalonzo should be bold enough and quit NASA if he wants to revive his political career and remain relevant,” said Omar. The former Wiper Party Secretary-General claimed that Raila cannot be trusted, adding that he is only using Kalonzo to achieve his own agenda.Omar who ditched Kalonzo’s party for Jubilee said Raila should retire from active politics.Pressure has been mounting on Kalonzo to ditch NASA after Raila withdrew from the October 26 repeat presidential election. There has been speculation that Kalonzo’s Wiper party is feeling discontented in NASA following Raila’s withdrawal from the poll.Last week, a section of Wiper officials and politicians met to discuss Kalonzo’s future in the opposition. The politicians vowed to push for Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential candidature.
