Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu has asked Wiper Party chairman David Musila to ditch the Kalonzo Musyoka led party if he wants to be on the ballot for the Kitui gubernatorial seat in the August 8 general election.
Mutambu, who last year decamped from Kalonzo’s party to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party said that Musila will not be endorsed for the Kitui gubernatorial seat
Speaking at Mwingi town during a voter registration drive on Thursday, Mutambu asked Musila to quit Kalonzo’s party before it’s too late.
“I urge my friend Musila to quickly move out of Wiper if he wants to survive politically,” he said as quoted by the Star.
The Mwingi Central MP claimed that Kalonzo will not support Musila’s bid to unseat Kitui governor Julius Malombe in the August 8 polls.
“Musila is going to die politically if he continues clinging on Kalonzo and other Wiper party sycophants” added Mutambu.
Senator Musila who has declared interests in the Kitui governor seat claims that Kalonzo is campaigning for incumbent Governor Malombe.
The Kitui senator further claims that Kalonzo wants him to drop his bid to unseat Malombe and instead seek re-election as senator.
Musila states that his bid to unseat Governor Malombe in the August 8 polls is unstoppable.
Last week Musila together with some Wiper officials walked out of Kalonzo’s rally at Mutomo market in Kitui after the Wiper leader allegedly asked locals to support Malombe’s re-election.
Kalonzo has however denied endorsing Malombe’s re-election saying that aspirants seeking elective seats on Wiper party ticket will be endorsed through party nominations.
The Wiper party leader went on to assure supporters of fair and transparent nominations.
