Divers searching for the bodies of Lake Nakuru chopper crash victims have become sick.

The divers are said to be suffering from typhoid due to contamination of the lake by sewerage.

Divers complanned of stomach pain and diarrhoea.

"At first, we thought it was cholera because most of the divers who fell sick had the same symptoms, which included vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea and weakness. They were unable to work and that is when they were taken to hospital," a diver said.

When they visited a local hospital, it emerged it was Typhoid.
