Mandago said there are many untapped opportunities in Uganda compared to Kenya."I want to urge residents not just sit in the county looking for white collar jobs which are scarce instead should do business such as selling passion fruits to our neighboring country Uganda. Let us use the East Africa Community (EAC) to improve our livelihoods and that of our county," said governor Mandago during the official opening of the Uganda exhibition in Eldoret, Tuesday."Currently we export over 80 percent of passion fruits from this county to Uganda. I, therefore, urge residents to plant more passion fruits since the demand is very high compared to production," he added. The vocal governor further called upon investors from Uganda to come and invest in the county noting that it has a conducive environment for investors. The county chief reiterated that his administration fully supports the trade policy which allows trade between African countries since "it will create a good relationship, employment, and trade between African countries".
