The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has shot another warning to Kenyans to be extra careful while purchasing bottled water. This is the second warning that KEBS is sending in a span of less than two months.
According to KEBS, unscrupulous dealers are selling water that is not certified to unsuspecting Kenyans. The water may be dirty or the packaging is not done in the correct way. They are therefore warning Kenyans to be extra vigilant while buying bottled water. They should check for KEBS certification sign and if the seal is broken, they should not purchase the water.
Kenyans are always known for dubious deals. Some people who are hungry for huge profits are bottling dirty water and forging KEBS sign before selling the water to thirsty Kenyans. This is very dangerous and the act itself amounts to a criminal offense.
Contaminated water can cause many diseases including cholera and stomach discomfort. Contaminated water also provides a means through which worms enter the body. Water is life and when it is contaminated, the life in it is squeezed out and it can even result in death. Buying contaminated water is akin to using your own money to buy poison. Be careful. Do not accept if seal is broken. Choose life.
