Bonchari aspirant Robert Obwoto has advised constituents not to be misled by the current MP Zebedeo Opore whom he accused has been intimidating them using hired goons.
Speaking at Royal Media's Egesa Fm yesterday night, Obwoto accused Opore of being a leader who is benefiting his relatives only and has failed to initiate projects that will benefit the whole constituency.
"It happens I come from the same place where Opore hails from. The MP has failed Boncharians with his poor leadership. CDF allocations to students in schools are done with bias. His relatives are the most beneficiaries from his leadership. The other day during a fundraising at Gesero secondary, Opore hired goons who destroyed my car just because I attended the function," Obwoto said.
He accused Opore of facilitating an illegal group known as Sungusungu to kill residents of Bonchari who opposes his leadership.
"It is very bad for a leader who should defend his constituents but facilitates and pay a gang to kill the people who voted for him. Opore should know this is a digital generation. Bloggers from Kisii have been arrested by Opore claiming they are defaming his name on social media. If leadership is poor, would people tolerate it? Opore has failed and should not threaten people using the so-called Ssungusungu to intimidate Omochari," said Obwoto.
"It is high time for Bonchari constituents to open up their eyes and vote someone who will bring development. 15 years in parliament but he has done nothing. Opore has never been in opposition and we expected him being in the government he will bring development from the national government," said Obwoto.
"Suneka airstrip has been for some time a topic now. He should stop blackmailing people. He now joined Omogusii unity who is he representing? I suppose his own interests since he never consulted Omonchari," he added.
He added that he will be the best leaders to lead Boncharians to the next level and urged constituents to vote him in 2017.
