Speaking during a rally at Afraha stadium on Sunday, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula said the move could work against their bid to dislodge the Jubilee party from power and asked the voters to stay put and vote as their security is guaranteed.

"Those who are fleeing this area with our votes are our own enemies. Stay back and vote to help us achieve our cause, because if you dont then we will lose," Mudavadi urged. His sentiments were echoed by Wetangula who affirmed that the security forces in the country were doing everything possible to ensure security reigns during and after the elections."Whether you come from Ukambani,Western ,Nyanza, Coast or Kisii please don't flee because your security is guaranteed.Don't reduce our numbers," he said. There have been reports that some residents especially from the Nyanza and Western regions have started fleeing the area for fear if electoral violence. The county was one of the hotspots during the unfortunate 2007/08 post election violence with ethnic conflicts taking centre stage.
