Deputy President William Ruto has urged the Luhya community to support the Jubilee government as it seeks re-election in the coming general polls saying that supporting the opposition will be like gambling with their votes as the opposition leaders have no development record.
Speaking when he made a stop over at Kapsokwony town Bungoma County Friday,the DP urged the residents of the region deemed to be largely in support of the opposition,to shift their allegiance in favor of the government saying that the opposition has nothing to offer them.
''These people have nothing new to offer you,they have held powerful positions in the government for long time but have not improved your lives.Vote in a a government that has plans to better your lives and that is the Jubilee government,'' said Ruto.
He said that instead of planning towards bettering the lives of the people,opposition leaders are coming up with funny agendas which are irrelevant.
''They dont have any agenda,manifesto or plans.All they are talking about is this new trap they have made.I wonder who they will trap(NASA),'' said Ruto.
Ruto was also accompanied by a host of leaders allied to the government including Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Kikuyu lawmaker Kimani Ichungwah who echoed his sentiments at a a time when both of the blocks are preparing for a political battle as opposition under the National Super Alliance(NASA)seeks to dethrone the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government in the August 8 elections.
