The officer in charge of Children's Welfare Susan Ouma has called upon Kangundo residents to call for action when children are abused or raped.
Speaking in Kangundo town on Thursday, Ouma stated the irresponsible act of rape to minors is on the increase in the sub-county owing to the fact that no reports were being made to the police.
"There has been increased sexual abuse of minors in the past few months in both Matungulu and Kangundo but this is also being encouraged by parents who go on and hide their children after such inhumane act," said Ouma.
Ouma further called upon both parents and guardians to seek help at her office or report to the police so that legal action is taken.
"I would like to urge parents to keep a keen eye on the whereabouts of the young ones as bad people take advantage of children left alone to commit such acts," she added This follows increased rape incidences in Kangundo area in the past 4 months.
