Leaders have been asked not to involve students in the on-going fight against after students at a Gilgil school were left fighting for their lives after being attacked by an illicit brew seller in the area.

According to Nakuru County Children representative, Nancy Jerono, it was sad that a leader would involve school going children in such circumstances.

“As an office, as we send our get well soon wishes to the attacked students, we totally condemn this act as its illegal to keep any school going child out of school at any given time unless it’s very necessary,” she noted.

“It’s sad that some of us are fighting to see our youth acquire education while a leader out there is converting them into personal body guards,” she added.

The Children’s representative was reacting after it was reported that three students from a school in gilgil were admitted at Gilgil hospital after being attacked with a panga.

Silas Njenga, a local chang’aa brewer is said to attack a number of students who had escorted a local leader with a panga injuring the three.

The students are nursing serious head injuries that were inflicted by the local brewer who was resisting arrest.
