Nakuru gubernatorial aspirant John Mututho has hit out at Nakuru leadership for failure to work closely with the national government as far as the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway through Nakuru to Kisumu is concerned.
Addressing media in Nakuru on Tuesday, the former Nacada boss said the President and His deputy are committed to the construction of the SGR and the Dry Port proposed in Nakuru County but the county leadership has caused confusion.
“Our own mild way of looking at issues has brought about the confusion we are seeing. Can we have that dry port constructed between the two towns so that we can have commerce development,” said Mututho.
He accused
Lee Kinyanjui of having been against Nakuru County by proposing that Nakuru and Njoro be under Baringo, Molo and Olenguroune enjoined to Kericho as Naivasha and Gilgil goe to Nyandarua countyt.
“Kinyanjui at one particular time proposed something that could have killed Nakuru that we are seeing,” said Mututho.
