Kigo told the government not to selectively compensate the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who lost their property and relatives in the aftermath of the 2007/08 Post Election Violence (PEV).

He urged the government not to only focus on IDPs in camps and later ignore the integrated ones who are currently hosted by their communities.

He advised the government not to be discriminative in compensation pointing out that most people who are yet to benefit went back to their communities while their counterparts from other regions who stayed in camps have benefited immensely from the government resources.

‘We have people now hailing in Gatundu North but were evicted from rift valley,Nakuru, Naivasha among other places who are yet to benefit from the integration of IDPs’ process. Am urging the government to vet the beneficiaries wisely to avoid being selective and avoiding the genuine persons who suffered in the aftermath,’ he said.

He urged the government to ensure that the PEV IDP compensation file is not closed until all the integrated IDPs are identified and dully compensated.

The legislator urged Kenyans at large not to stop praying for the country even after the ICC chapter was closed citing that Kenya need peace and total healing of the affected persons.

He urged youths to register as voters for a voting chance citing that voting was the only way for electorates to express the leader of their choice.

He was speaking in his Kamwangi office on Tuesday.
