The small town which is always busy day and night has faced several challenges by the fact that it is a 24-hour economy.

Speaking to our reporter early today the matatu and bodaboda operators in the town say that despite the open alternative routes in the town it still remains a menace for the matatu operators, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Hence they urged the Kisii County Government through the county ministry of special planning to make sure they look for an alternative means of getting rid of congestion since it is not only affecting transport sector but also business in the town.

According to the matatu operators, they get difficulties in getting in and out of the main bus park especially in the evening and when it is raining.

"The congestion can even cause accidents as pedestrians struggle to pass in the midst of vehicles," A matatu driver only identified as Samuel told our reporter.
