Do you have a baby face like most Nairobi guys or you got the beards like the Coastal or rather people in Mombasa? You yourself better and where you belong.
It is obvious most men will try to use their strengths, call it their strongholds, to attract more women as they can for various reasons, maybe for one night stand, for a long-term relationship, etc.
If you belong to that category of men, science has something nice for you, but not so nice for everyone.
Scientists don’t know exactly why beards are such a big deal when it comes to romance and attractiveness, but it is.
In the past, studies showed that more masculine faces were preferred for short-term relationships, while less masculine ones were preferred for long-term.
However, things are never the same, change has never stopped embracing people. A recent study https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/jeb.12958 published in Evolutionary Biology came up with very unique findings.
During the study, 8,520 heterosexual women were tracked as they rated the attractiveness of computer graphic male faces that changed to various facial hair types to look more or less masculine. The faces ranged from, clean-shaven, light stubble, heavy stubble, and full beard.
As the faces changed, women were asked to rate them for general attractiveness and choose whether the relationship would be long-term or short-term.
Overall, stubbly faces were judged as the most attractive, but also got a higher short-term rating than full bearded faces.
Contrary to the studies in the past, the full beard face received the most point for long-term relationships. Faces that are considered to be too masculine or too feminine were judged as the least attractive faces overall.
From the findings, most women prefer men with beards as compared to baby-faced men.
