A Mombasa law court has barred Dock Workers Union from suspending officials over allegations of misconduct and incompetence.

Judge James Rika, of the labour court, issued stopping the removal of Mohammed Sheria (chairperson), vice chair Gunda Kaneno and national treasurer Joseph Makero.

The officials had moved to court to stop the organization from terminating their contracts.

Their termination of contract was separheaded by secretary general Simon Sang.

Rika further restrained Sang from holding any meetings and tabling any agenda on discussing the fate of the officials

According to Rika, Salim Bambaulo, Martha Mwaka, Nana Wote and Gladys Chepkorir will not replace the petitioners as the national and assistant chair and national and assistant treasurer.
