Controversial quack doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu has confirmed that he will vie for the Roysambu Member of Parliament seat in the coming general elections in 2017.
The 'Doctor' who was accused of sedating and raping a patient at his Prestige Healthcare Clinic in Githurai 44, Nairobi, on November 1 2015, said he was taking the step due to "pressure from those who believe in his ability to lead"
He said via Facebook on Wednesday: " Yes, I'm going for Roysambu parliamentary seat in 2017. That's what my heart tells me. Make no mistake about it~ No one is behind me but I believe a have a righteous wind on my back.... I know all manner of personal attacks will be used against me but believe you me, from 2017, I'll fight for Kenyans not from Facebook but from August house.."
Wairimu has promised to help youths find jobs and create connections via online platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
"Starting tomorrow, I'll be engaging in a comprehensive networking exercise of linking up jobless youths in Roysambu constituency. I'll be setting up an e-mail, what I'll be settilegram, Twitter account and a Facebook group specifically for Roysambu youths whom I'll be seeking to represent in parliament in 2017. Towards that, I'll be setting up a comprehensive, cutting-edge database of the CV's of all jobless Roysambu youths. No more rhetoric, only concrete action. Let the doubters, naysayers and prophets of doom continue doing what they know best. We must tell the current absentee MP that we want back our constituency, he added.
Wairimu, who was termed a fake gynecologist was arrested in September at a hotel in Limuru and charged with 10 counts of operating unregistered clinics.
