Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a building that will house an amenity ward and a doctors plaza at the Nyamira County Hospital.

The hospital has been operating without doctors plaza and has a ward with a bed capacity of 30.

The project is expected to take six months according to the county boss. 

The doctors plaza will help the doctors from seeking greener pastures in other counties.

The county boss further said his government will continue building more hospitals across the county and also equipping them with the necessary facilities.

"My government will continue building and equipping the hospitals with necessary facilities as well as hiring more medical staff," he added.
