Striking doctors have said that they are willing to resume work under the condition that the government drops its hardline stand.

While appearing before the senate health committee KMPDU officials said that they were ready to resume duty if both the national and county governments implemented four key aspects of the contentious 2013 CBA.

The doctors want the government to address training, employment, staffing and working conditions before the three-month strike is called off.

“We don’t want to go back to a system where our work will be to supervise death.,” said KMPDU secretary general Oluga Ouma.

The doctors have been striking since December last year over failure to implement the 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
