Machakos County government on Friday obtained a court order suspending the ongoing strike by doctors.
The Employment and Labour Relations Court ordered the immediate termination of the strike that has lasted for more than two weeks.
The orders issued by Justice Abuodha Nelson will stay in force pending the hearing and determination of the claim presented by the County Government.
The government had moved to court claiming that the strike by medics was illegal.
Aboudha in his ruling termed the matter urgent and set an inter-parties hearing for August 30.
Efforts by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to end the strike hit a hard rock after officials of the doctors union failed to turn up for a dialogue as meeting as agreed.
The strike has crippled major operations in most public health centres across the county.
