Doctors’ Union, KMPDU, has had its Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed with county governments registered at the labour court.

Speaking after the registration on Monday, KMPDU secretary general Ouma Oluga said he was happy for the milestone.

Only three counties that lacked Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) letters have not been registered.

Mr Oluga said the three counties will look for the letters then take document for registration

"With the registration, this document then becomes binding. A CBA has timelines and a structure in a way in which the union and the employer can engage freely," Oluga said outside the Milimani Law Courts.

Oluga thanked all stakeholders, doctors and the public for their continued support throughout the journey.

"[And] the doctors for never giving up on the healthcare system.....that is why we pursued this matter with a lot of vigour."

Mr Oluga was one of the KMPDU officials who were jailed over a three-months long strike by medics early this year.
