Kisumu Deputy governor Ruth Odinga has addressed claims that his elder brother and ODM leader Raila Odingais collecting money from politicians.

This is after Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale claimed that Raila was collecting money from ODM governors to fund his campaign.

In an interview with the Standard, Ruth dismissed the aleations.

"Which politicians? What money can they give Raila? Please do not confuse the ODM party and Raila. The party has its own structures with proper financial systems," said Ruth Odinga.

According to the outgoing deputy governor, politicians and other members are required to pay subscription fees, though this is rarely the case.

"Claims that money is collected from politicians outside these channels is pure propaganda to paint Raila negatively and hamper his presidential ambitions," she said.

She further expressed optimism that his brother will be the next President of Kenya.

"I can tell you for free that Raila will be the president of this country after the August 8 elections irrespective of such propaganda," she added.
