Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti at a past function.[Photo/zipo.co.ke]Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti will have to wait longer to know her fate in regard to Machakos Governorship race after it emerged that her name has been listed in both Wiper and Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU).
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati has written a letter to Chama Cha Uzalendo Chairman Maur Bwanamaka in regard to the leadership of the party.
Chebukati notes that the lawmaker is still recognized as the leader of the political outfit despite crossing over to join Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka’s side as she sought to unseat Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua in the forthcoming general elections.
The commission also listed Philipe Opiyo (secretary-general)and Caroline Malinda (treasure) as the other officials of CCU as per Nakuru High Court ruling.
Mr Bwanamaka, who declared his interest in the Kwale senatorial race has also been locked out of the contest. The twist of events comes at a time when Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has been given 24 hours to give a direct ticket to any of its to battle it out with Mutua in the August general polls.
Mutua fell out with Musyoka citing frustrations. He later on former his political party- Maendeleo Chap Chap.
