Speaking in Garissa Town, Dolal said that Maalim has a workable agenda for young people and other marginalized groups.

The former aspirant who shelved his bid in support of Maalim cautioned youth against endorsing incumbent Aden Duale.

Dolal claimed that the National Assembly leader of majority does not have their interests of young people at heart.

He said that Duale has failed to initiate development for locals and has been busy fighting opponents.

Dolal indicated that youth, women and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) will not taste the fruits of devolution if they endorse Duale’s re-election.

He accused Duale of favoritism claiming that the MP favours locals from certain clans against others.

Maalim is facing off with Duale in the race for the Garissa Parliamentary seat.

The two politicians have been trading accusations publicly with Duale saying that he will politically burry Maalim in a 10- feet grave.

Duale claims that Maalim is a political reject and too old to be in politics.

Maalim on the other hand says that he has the numbers to send Duale home. The former National Assembly Deputy speaker claims that Duale has not matured politically and does not deserve re-election.

The battle for the Garissa seat will be among those to watch for in the August 8 polls with political analysts predicting a tight race but a possible win for the Wiper Deputy Party leader.
