Kisii University deputy vice chancellor Prof Maurice Amutabi announced that the conference will begin on 23 to 25 June, 2016.

The theme is “Rethinking Development Paradigms by Africa and its Partners.”

The conference is sponsored by the Kenya Scholars and Studies Association (KESSA).

Prof Amutabi and Multi Media's Prof Abel Mayaka are the convenors of the conference.

"The conference participants will meet their own travel and accommodation expenses," said Amutabi through his official facebook page.

Those who wish to be accomodated at Multimedia University have been given limited spaces of 160 standard hotel rooms.

Those who will miss will be accommodated in alternative hotels nearby.

"We hope that delegates travelling from abroad have already finalised visa plans to obtain clearance for entry into Kenya," he said.

"If you need a visa and there is a Kenyan diplomatic representation in your country, we urge you to process your visa in good time to avoid delays," he added.

He told all participants to send their PowerPoint slides or confirm participation, and could work on full papers later.
