Dr Tom Nyan'gau, Director of Self-Sponsored Programmes and Environmental Sciences lecturer at Kisii University has challenged students to embrace the culture of environmental protection, conservation and safety to ensure the world becomes a habitable ecosystem.
Speaking today at Ibacho Secondary School during the school's Education Day, Nyanga'u challenged local communities to monitor media environmental programmes to empower themselves with latest research on environmental protection and conservation, so that they can be part of the solution to challenges of environmental degradation in their communities.
"I am encouraging members of the local communities to take part in environmental protection and conservation efforts through monitoring of media programmes educating communities on their role in environmental conservation and new research findings on challenges facing environmental safety across the world," observed Nyang'au.
Nyang'au informed members of the public to monitor his environmental radio programme run on KBC Radio's Minto FM, to get more information on environmental safety and conservation within their communities and public places.
