Focus Youth Initiative secretary Suzan Magana said the group has raised concerns over the rise in school dropouts by the children in the semi-arid areas of Kiambu County.

Magana said that they are finding it hard for them to raise funds to purchase the sanitary towels for all the children in the area and although Governor William Kabogo has been supporting them, they are still experiencing problems in their financial status.

The group has now launched a programme where any willing resident of Kiambu will donate a pair of the sanitary towels and give it out to the officials who will be going round the county collecting the same.

The youth-oriented group, which comprises of the college and university students from the county, has been going round primary and secondary schools in Kiambu educating, supporting and motivating school children to enhance their future.

Magana said they are set to collect over  100,000 sanitary towels from the area which will be disbursed to every needy child in support of the county government and other wellwishers.
