Cord leader Raila Odinga and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi have agreed to work together ahead of the 2017 general elections.
Speaking in Laikipia on Tuesday when they made a public appearance, the two leaders said they had erred in separating ahead of the 2013 elections but that they are now united to oust Uhuru Kenyatta.
"We will be together in 2017," Raila declared during an address he made at the Resort Hotel in Laikipia North constituency.
Raila urged citizens to register as voters, saying there was need to take home the government made of what he termed as ‘thieves’.
“Come February next year it will not be business as usual. This government is full of thieves who need to be taken home. We want to bring change to this country," he said.
Mudavadi told wananchi that the National Super Alliance (NASA) was the best political tool they were going to use to unseat President Kenyatta and the Jubilee government.
He reiterated that there was no enmity between him and Odinga, saying that they can still work together to unite and deliver the country from corruption.
“What is important is the message of unity that we should send to voters. We are not saying we do not want ODM, Wiper, Ford Kenya or the others," Mudavadi said.
"We want a special unity that will see us win the elections. Standing here shows I have that will," he added.
Mudavadi questioned the real source of monies the government was dishing out at harambees, expressing concerns that the amounts were too huge to be managed by a single person’s finances.
“They are moving around with sacks of bags full money. Where do they get the Sh18m they dish out at harambees every weekend?” asked Mudavadi.
The two were accompanied by Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, MPs Alfred Agoi (Sabatia), Junet Mohammed (Suna East), Elijah Memusi (Kajiado Central) and Mathew Lempurkel (Laikipia North).
